Niloufar Taghizadeh was born and raised in Iran. In 1996 she came to Germany and then studied Theatre and Film Directing at the Athanor Academy for Performing Arts. She wrote her first feature film script “Like the Rain” in 2005 for the Flying Moon Film Productions, which was sponsored by Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg. In 2006 she returned to Iran where she worked as a screenwriter, among others for the Iranian director and screenwriter Kambozia Partovi. At the same time she began her journalistic work as a producer alongside the Middle East correspondent Ulrich Tilgner at ZDF-Studio in Tehran. Between 2008 and 2012 she was the only woman working at ZDF-Studio in Tehran and was responsible for many ideas, productions and shootings alongside several correspondents in Iran. She also took part in international cinema and TV projects as production manager and author. In 2012 she returned to Europe and continued her work in Vienna/Austria until 2016.

2016/17 she started her collaboration as a freelancer with film producer and director Cordula Kablitz-Post and her company Avantimedia-Fiction. At first as production manager for Arte Televisions popular documentary series “Into the Night with…” and later as writer and director she accompanied several episodes on behalf of Arte Television. In 2017 she directed “Into the Night with Navid Kermani and Martina Gedeck” in Naples.

2018/19 she wrote a script for the documentary “Iran bittersweet – a journey through a land of contradictions” on behalf of ZDF Television on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in Iran. It was jointly directed by Middle East correspondent Jörg Brase and Niloufar Taghizadeh.

2019 she founded Windcatcher-Productions, based in Heidelberg, with the aim of producing film projects by freelance authors as well as her own films.
